Mineshaft History – 2015

20/10/2015…..Solid opal Buddha carving 87.7 carats. This carving was carved last week by our carver in Bali. It took him 18 hours.

The opal was found by Peter and was part of the first pocket mined at the Grasshopper field of Mintabie in South Australia

16/04/2015…..AMBER and JET carvings. Just arrived is a large selection of Baltic amber and Russian Jet carvings. These have been hand carved by our Bali carvers from rough material we selected some time ago. We have not had time to price these as Marianne and Peter are off today for a few days camping and they will be priced when they return.

(What a gem)

2/04/2015……This morning (just after midnight) Peter caught this GEM of a trout in Lake Eucumbene. It is the biggest trout he has ever caught. He got to bed at 4 am and still opened the shop on time!

19/1/15…..Today is my first day back at the shop. We have been on holiday down the South Coast. This picture was taken at the fabulous Original Gold Rush Colony at Mogo. A great place to spend a day and it reminded me of my miner grandfather and his little mining camp at Hillgrove N.S.W. His pants and braces looked the same as the ones I have on in the picture. Marianne and our twin boys looked fabulous.
